From Melbourne markets to a family butcher in Toowoomba.

More than 40 years ago, brothers Russell and Winton Patton began their butchering careers at Melbourne’s famous Queen Victoria Market. What started as a trade soon became a family journey that would eventually bring the Patton name to Toowoomba.

After moving to a new store, Russell met Sharon, and together they built a life around family, hard work and butchering. Over the years, they opened shops at Moonee Ponds Markets, Preston Markets and several other locations before making the move north to Queensland’s Garden City — Toowoomba.

Together with their three sons, Russell and Sharon established Patton’s at the Hooper Centre, creating the beginning of what would become a much-loved local family business.

For decades, generations of customers have walked through our doors — many becoming familiar faces and part of the Patton’s story themselves.

Today, Patton’s The Bargain Butcher remains proudly family-owned and locally operated, continuing the same values we started with: quality meat, great value and friendly service.
