Our storyOver 40 years ago, brothers Russell and Winton Patton began their butchering career in Melbourne's Queen Victoria Markets. Soon after relocating to a new store, Russell met Sharon and together they opened butcher shops in the Moonee Ponds Markets, Preston Markets and several more locations before making the decision to relocate to Queensland's Garden City of Toowoomba.
Together with their three sons, they established Patton's Discount Meats at the Hooper Centre, and the business was soon a household name around the district. Known for it's quality produce at very affordable prices, the word spread and the Patton's realised customers were driving up to eight hours to buy their meat. Success in Toowoomba encouraged the family to make a new move to the Sunshine Coast and open another store in the suburb of Warana, now owned and operated by Jason and Tracey & Darren and Tracey Patton. It was an unfortunate date on the 20th November 2013 when an electrical fault caused Russell and Sharon's Hooper Centre store to burn down, leaving them out of business for over 16 months. The incredible support from the Toowoomba community was massive encouragement for the Patton's to start again, and they decided to rebuild the shop which officially opened on the 25th March this year. Today, thanks to the loyal customers from Toowoomba and surrounding areas, Patton's is back trading as per usual, delivering the best quality cuts of meat at the lowest bargain prices. |
